About Us

Safer Opioids is an extension of the Safer Prescribing of Opioids after Trauma and Surgery (SPOTS) program, initially founded by Dr. Jonathan Kohler. This collaborative program was developed with the help from the South Central Wisconsin Healthcare Emergency Readiness Coalition (SCWIHERC), South Central Regional Trauma Advisory Council (SCRTAC), Surgical Collaborative of Wisconsin (SCW), and University of Wisconsin – Madison Department of Surgery and made possible through a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Our staff includes:
